The Millevaches Regional Park : Moorlands, evergreen forests, lakes and a thousand streams (the origin of the name 'Millevaches' is thought to be 'a thousand streams'). Territory of deer, wild boar, otters, buzards, kites, kestrels, many owls and more. The peatlands and moors are the home of drosera rotunfifolia (carniverous plants), sphagnum and wild orchids. Thus the park provides a unique opportunity to combine adventurous activities such as rambling, mountain biking and orienteering with the discovery of this wild-life sanctuary's treasures. Peyrat le Chateau is in the Plateau de Millevaches. The area also boasts a multitude of lakes, the largest of which is Lac Vassiviere, only 20 minutes drive from Feyssaguet. The beautiful Lac de Sechemailles is 20 km away near the old town of Meymac.
